Description of research profile
My research experience involves quantitative research related to both public and private sectors including: agriculture, industries, firms, banks, households, labor market, health care, education and in recent years development and international economics. Particularly, I am specialized in the measurement of performance (R&D, innovativeness, technical change, efficiency, productivity and growth) of microeconomic units like firms, financial institutes, utilities, regions and economies. For the performance measurement I use econometric methods and panel data techniques.
During my employment at WIDER and MTT (2001-2004) I worked with: innovation, flows of foreign direct investment, globalization, trends in global income inequality, and relationship between information and communication technologies, economic growth and employment in Estonia. At SNU (2004-) my research is mainly related to evaluation of the financial market, firm dynamics, innovation and productivity of manufacturing industries in Korea and India and China and also inflow of foreign direct investment and its distribution by industrial sector and provinces in China.
